Anything artistic has always been of interest to Beth. She started drawing and painting ever since she could hold a piece of chalk, pencil and then her grandmother put a paintbrush in her hand when she was only 4 years old and they used to paint with her oil paints. The love of oil painting and the smell of the paint continue to excite her. Our local doctor purchased my first painting when Beth was 14 years old and between the ages of 16 and 18 years, she was painting scenery and huge canvas backdrops for the Repertory Club musicals.
Beth has attended many workshops and art classes over the years but mainly self-taught via reading everything available about painting, attending exhibitions whenever possible and experimenting with other mediums but seemed to always return to oil. Her preferred subjects include the Australian landscape, flowers and still life.
As Beth has worked full-time now for over 37 years as a Social Worker she is now looking forward to retiring and painting every day!
