Tony McAlinden

Throughout his life Tony has had a fascination with the Australian landscape.  In his paintings he has endeavoured to capture the vibrancy of our countryside, which for him, is full of light, life and colour.

At an early age he discovered oils was the medium he wanted to use to capture the vibrancy of the countryside.

The Australian artist Leonard Long, who lived to be 102, became his mentor.  Tony aims to emulate him and keep painting for as many years.

Tony has held a number of very successful solo exhibitions and now has paintings in collections throughout Australia and overseas.

Since coming to Mandurah, Tony has been part of the Mandurah Plein Air Artists and his greatest relaxation is escaping outside to capture the light, life and colour of what he sees.
