Irene Osborne

Irene Osborne says “There is a magic about Plein Air Painting, it essentially gives me a greater depth of understanding of the landscape.    Immersing myself in nature, responding to my surroundings, hearing the breeze or birdsongs is therapeutic:  good for my soul and enhances my artworks.

Fortunately, I’ve been on numerous art safari adventures across Australia, from our coastlines to central deserts and remote Kimberley’s, enjoying the challenges of quickly trying to capture the colours, light and shapes unique to each location.

I also love interacting and painting with other likeminded members of the Mandurah Plein Air Artists. These experiences inform the rest of my arts practice including mural painting and larger studio works /commissions.”

Artist of the Month – September, 2025

We are delighted to announce Irene Osborne as our Artist of the Month for September. Irene was recently awarded Most Popular Artist at the Approaching Landscapes Exhibition in Miami, where her striking landscape paintings captured attention with their detail and beauty. She collected her prize from Kelly at Jackson’s Mandurah, proud sponsors of the event. Irene is a long-standing and valued member of MPAA. With fewer chances for Irene to join us lately, her artistry and friendship remain a special part of our community. Congratulations, Irene!
