Workshops and Artist Development Sessions

We’re proud to have a community of talented members who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and experience. Workshops and development sessions are designed to help you refine your plein air painting techniques and explore new creative possibilities beyond the outdoors. These sessions are not run by MPAA but are hosted at venues such as Jacksons Drawing Supplies, Mandurah, Rockingham Arts Centre and the Murray Arts and Crafts , Pinjarra providing inspiring spaces for learning and creativity. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to elevate your artistry, these sessions offer guidance, inspiration, and practical skills to support your artistic journey.


Robyn Lowry – upcoming Workshops.

As well as joining us on our weekly paintouts, Robyn teaches private students, mature aged, in acrylics and oils in her home studio one day a week.
Commission work and gallery work keeps her in full time employment for the rest of the week.
Robyn runs workshops at Jacksons Art Supplies and Murray Arts, Pinjarra in Acrylics, oils and Pastels on a variety of subjects and applications.

Robyn will be holding three separate workshops at Jacksons in February, March and April: Acrylics for beginners, Colour mixing and Seascapes and Skies.

This painting which is one of four that the class will paint in the Seascapes and Skies workshop.

10am – 2pm


Angie Crotty

Angie Crotty is running a workshop “How to Paint Realistic Pets in Pastel for Beginners” on Friday 20
March 10am – 2pm at Rockingham Arts Centre (this will probably become a two day workshop).

If you are interested in realistic pastels, this is the workshop for you.
